Jimmy Thomas Bingo
- Reverend Jimmy THOMAS Paul and Gail would like to thank everyone that went to the funeral for their sad loss of Jimmy. Would like to thank all staff at Nazareth House for their care and attention of Jimmy, and Father Alexander and Father Jones, Archbishop George for his Requiem Mass at Nazareth House.
- Jimmy Thomas, assisted by his wife, had a lifetime of operating and manufacturing machines and games for the amusement and bingo industry, running chains of arcades and bingo clubs across the country. He is a former president of the trade association BACTA.
In 1980 as a 17 year old he joined the Beacon Bingo, in his hometown of Loughborough, as a Bingo Operative. Where his hands on, and can do approach soon had him rising through the ranks, under the watchful eye of Jimmy Thomas. My father, Jimmy Thomas. I admire his tenacity; he can be a terrier to achieve what he wants, whereas I’m less of a scrapper so find solutions other ways. But it’s an enviable quality. Worst business decision? I lost £100K in a business in a field I didn’t know enough about. Lesson learned, do your homework properly. Best business decision?
